About Us

Bluebells is based in the heart of Ayrshire in Scotland, the birthplace of Robert Burns, probably the world's most famous romantic poet.

We started the company in March 2008 with the intention to design and manufacture high quality raincoats and other garments, specifically for children. The idea for Bluebells emerged when I tried to buy my little girl Emilia a pretty raincoat and weekend bag. Despite looking in all the major stores, specialist retailers and on line, I could find nothing other than mass-produced, uninteresting coats and bags.

We felt there was a clear gap in the market for coats and bags that were well designed, colourful, attractive, practical yet still at a reasonable price!

With the help of a wonderful dressmaker called Nat who has passionately made endless amounts of coat samples, bags, aprons and flowers, our range of Bluebells products has now been launched.

We are a small business, and use a local manufacture and suppliers to ensure we can turn round orders and develop new ideas quickly. Our hallmark is that our funky coats are Made in Scotland.
